Roger E. Lawson, age 85, of Brownton, Minnesota, formerly of Buffalo Lake, Minnesota, passed away on Saturday, October 5, 2024, at Hutchinson Health in Hutchinson, Minnesota. Memorial Service was held Friday, October 11, 2024, at 11:00 a.m. at Grace Lutheran Church in Brownton, with interment at a later date. Memorials preferred to Grace Lutheran Church in Brownton.

Roger Eugene Lawson was born on March 27, 1939, in Winnebago, Minnesota. He was the son of Glen and Leona (Meurer) Lawson. Roger was baptized as an infant and later confirmed in his faith as a youth at St. Matthew’s Catholic Church in Vernon Center, Minnesota. He received his education in Amboy, Minnesota, and was a graduate of the Amboy High School Class of 1956.
Roger entered active military service in the United States National Guard on February 4, 1956, with CO A, 3rd BN, 135 INF in Fairmont, Minnesota. He received an Honorable Discharge on November 30, 1962, and achieved the rank of Staff Sergeant (E6).
Roger was blessed with three children, Michael, Scott and Jana, and two step-children David, and Dan. He resided in Buffalo Lake, Minnesota, and in 2003, moved to Brownton, Minnesota.
Roger owned and operated Buffalo Lake Welding in Buffalo Lake. He retired in 2006. Roger was a member of Grace Lutheran Church in Brownton. He was also a member of DeGree Fleisch American Legion 125 in Stewart,
Minnesota, and American Legion Post 96 in Hutchinson, Minnesota.
Roger enjoyed collecting vintage and antique snowmobiles and attending snowmobile shows. He restored numerous relics and displayed his beautiful sleds in which he received numerous awards. In addition, he has provided parts and technical knowledge for many snowmobile enthusiasts throughout northern states. He was an avid outdoor sportsman, enjoying both hunting and fishing. He especially enjoyed spending time with his family, grandchildren and friends.

Roger is survived by his children, Michael Lawson and his wife, Gretchen, Scott Lawson and his wife, Linda, Jana Lawson; step-children David Kellerman, Dan Kellerman and his fiancé, Sara Johnson; four grandchildren; two great-grandchildren; sister, Donnis Larson; two nieces; one nephew; special friend, Shirley Buesing and her family; many other relatives and friends. Roger is preceded in death by his parents, Glen and Leona Lawson; wife, Barbara Lawson.
